Takoda’s specialty win with handler Holly Eldred
Well the summer couldn’t have been better for this little girl and her entourage that followed ( ie Wes,Bryanna and I – Athena, Brita and Sam and the Fifth wheeler ). Takoda raked up an impressive AKC show career that took her to all parts of the US to finish her CH with 4 judges in total !!!!
Perhaps the highlight and “icing on the cake”, occurred this August while at the North Star Rottweiler Club Speciality/St Croix Valley Kennel Club Cluster. At just shy of 17 months, Takoda went BOW at the North Star Rottweiler Club Speciality for her second major at a Speciality (3pt) at the lead with Holley Eldred and under Judge James Noe. It was nice to know that Mr. Noe still liked her as he had given Takoda WB in May with me handling her in UT. By going BOW at the Speciality, Takoda was the recipient of the “Tucker Award” which is sponsored by Jim Runck of Quickfire Rottweilers (co-breeder on Takoda). As many are aware, Tucker is the special boy that will be bred to “Vegas” at the end of the year. How nice to have all of us in the picture for that win.
New CH 17 months of age BOW Major Win – St.Croix Valley Cluster – handler Adam Peterson
On Sunday August 25 ( 17 months ), Takoda once again went BOW for yet another major and finished her CH !!!!!!!! This time she was on the lead with her handler Adam Peterson and our judge was Nancy Liebes. Adam, is Tim’s son and of course, Tim is the breeder (Wynstone Kennels) and co-owner on Takoda. What an awesome family picture that day with Adam,Tim,Jim and myself.
On Monday, it was the North Star Working Group Association Show and Big T and I ( despite far to much Champagne the night before with our Canadian friends next door ), showed as a team taking our first Select.
As a fancier of the breed, a breeder of a litter every few years and a competitive participant in performance events with my dogs……..Takoda has begun to show just what she is made of. None of this happened without the cumulative effort and hours of others that make up her name on paper and the pedigree that brought it all together.
